Proposal for Professional Services

Risk Based Audit Implementation and Documentation Enhancement

Specialized services to strengthen your firm's audit methodology, sampling systems, and documentation aligned with ICAI Standards on Auditing.

Context
Background

The evolving regulatory and professional environment has significantly elevated expectations from audit engagements. Compliance with the Standards on Auditing (SAs) issued by the ICAI requires not only technical understanding but structured and consistent implementation of the Risk-Based Audit (RBA) approach across engagements.

While firms possess strong domain expertise, practical challenges often arise in ensuring uniform application of risk assessment procedures, materiality determination, sampling methodology, and documentation robustness. This proposal outlines specialized professional services aimed at strengthening the RBA framework, enhancing documentation alignment, and introducing system-driven quantitative tools for defensible, standards-compliant audit execution.

📋

ICAI Mandate

Standards on Auditing issued by the ICAI mandate a Risk-Based Audit Approach (RBA) for all statutory auditors. Also applies for audit of companies as per Section 143(10) of The Companies Act 2013.

🔍

Risk Assessment

SA 315 & SA 330 require identification and assessment of risks of material misstatement through understanding the entity and its environment and decide appropriate responses to the audit risks.

📊

Audit Sampling

SA 530 governs audit sampling, requiring objective sample size determination and proper documentation of sampling methodology. It closely interacts with SA 320 & SA 450.

🎯

Overall Objectives of the Auditor — SA 200

(a) To obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements as a whole are free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error, thereby enabling the auditor to express an opinion on whether the financial statements are prepared, in all material respects, in accordance with an applicable financial reporting framework; and

(b) To report on the financial statements, and communicate as required by the SAs, in accordance with the auditor's findings.
